Just a quick note to let you know that there will be a call tonight. Talk with you then.

Note: My apologies for the delay in getting the replay link posted.  While I have thoroughly enjoyed the first leg of this new life and mission, not having internet can be a problem. It was our (Sarah and I) intention to leave Hillsdale Lake (site of the camper’s maiden voyage) and get to a coffee shop so that I could post the link.  Well, (funny now but not so much when it happened) I got delayed at the dump station (where you empty your black and gray water tanks).

Couldn’t get the elbow off the new sewer hose (affectionally called a stinky slinky) because it was new and still pretty stiff.  Sooo I called Sarah who had gone ahead of me to get new tires on her camper (that’s another story of divine protection) and she came back to campground to help (about 10 miles).  I have to tell ya, I felt pretty awkward standing there by the sewer hoping and praying that someone would come to dump their tanks and be able twist that damn elbow off.

While I waited and I tuned in and asked for help (decided to employ a new Council member…gotta remember to ask for his/her name) and got an answer–WD40.  Well, I went to my storage bay and found something similar that I had just bought at the RV dealer when I picked up the camper and sprayed it on.  Wha la, worked like magic.  Had that elbow off in a jiffy.  Feeling pretty proud of myself (and totally forgetting to thank the new Council member, hope he/she doesn’t quit) I ran to my truck and called Sarah to let her know that all well and I’d soon be on my way.  She was almost to the campground and asked me wait.  Soon we were on our way again.

But wait, that’s not all…!  On our way to the RV dealer (on the other side of town, about 40 miles) I was happily driving along (and passing a semi) when all of a sudden a warning light came on on the dash.  *Warning brake connection or wiring is faulty, consult owner’s manual!*  Now how was I gonna do that while driving on the freeway at 65 mph?  A moment later I pumped the brakes to slow down only to discover that I had no trailer brake!  After a moment of panic (and a generous expression of several of my favorite cuss words), I called Sarah to let her know that I was going to exit and find a place to park.

I pulled off onto a busy street (they all are in that part of town).  Long story short, and after several phone calls (and another human angel)  I got back on the freeway and made my way to the RV dealer.  They discovered it was a screw that had jiggled loose, causing the brake to disengage while the lights were still functional (thank God for that!)

So, we get the rig all fixed and head to the new campground across the street from the RV dealer.  After much trial and error (and about 30 minutes) with the Lynx blocks, I again asked for help (guess he/she didn’t quit) and realized I should use my new Anderson levelers.  With Sarah’s help we got the rig leveled in  one try. Yay!  Finished getting set up, had some dinner, fed and walked the dog and now sitting here writing all of you.

So now you know why the posting the message was delayed.  Hope you enjoy the replay, it was short one and I got cut off at the end, but still quite uplifting.
