The Mission Restoration Quilts

October 30, 2023

Here we are again. A couple of new quilts. Both were made while I was in Missouri for the summer.

Happy Day

Quilt Price: $125

Quilt: 47.5” width x 66” length
Pillow: $40 (custom made upon request)

I’ve always wanted to make a quilt that didn’t require precise, instead just grab a strip of fabric and sew it on! This pattern allowed me to do just that combining colors in a random fashion so that each block is unique from all the others–what fun!! I hope Happy Day brings a smile to your face and makes you feel as happy when you look at it just as it does for all the ladies at my local quilt guild–they loved it.

Victory

I saw this quilt made up at a small quilt shop in Hollister, MO and was impressed by the bold sort of deco design with stars and eagles.  I’ve been wanting to make a patriotic themed quilt, but with a unique twist to the traditional stars and stripes, this one hit the mark for me. If you have a military vet that you feel would really appreciate a quilt to honor his or her service, email me.

Quilt Price: Free to a US veteran.

Quilt: 62” width x 80” length

I don’t know about you, but as Spring draws near, I find I really begin to crave the colors pink, rosy red, blue and yellow, it’s like our eyes are starving for their richness. The quilts I made this winter had those in colors mind.

Mary Rose

Some of my favorite colors are in the rosy pink family. When I saw the Mary Rose pattern, (daunting!) along with the fabric line that had just hit the quilt store, I knew I had to make it.
This quilt reminds of the excitement and joy I felt when the early Spring roses bloomed in my garden at my former home, (sure miss the gardens but not the maintenance).

Note: If you are looking for a pair of these quilts, say for example, two girls’ bed, there is a second Mary Rose quilt in the making. It that would have been included this offering, but it is not quite complete. Send me an email if interested.

Quilt Price: $175

Quilt: 53” width x 70” length
Pillow: $40 (custom made upon request)

Blooms and Vines

This pattern reminds me of the big cluster of pink Clematis flowers that grew so closely together along my garden fence that they appeared to be one big blanket of color.

Quilt Price: $55

Quilt: 38.5” width x 44.5” length
Pillow: $40 (custom made upon request)

Vintage Stars

Some of you may remember the feed sacks that your mother or grandmother used to make clothes and quilts back in the 30s. The fabrics prints in this quilt hail from that period. I love, love 30’s prints and I love the Brightly pattern. What a fun and happy quilt they make together.

Quilt Price: $275 (Sold)

Quilt: 60” width x 72” length
Pillow: $40 (custom made upon request)

Update – October 13, 2022

Can’t believe it’s been a year since I sold the house and hit the road full-time. It’s been quite a journey filled with new places and new friends, many of them quilters! On that note, I sit in awe of how a simple hobby enabled me to meet people from all walks of life and political/social persuasions and create community. I understood that creating community would be part of the next phase this work, but I didn’t and couldn’t see that occurring on the road. But, here we are.

Just so you know I haven’t been slacking, I have completed 3 quilts and am making 2 of them available (not ready to let go of the third one yet). I haven’t yet made pillows, tote bags, etc for them, but if you want one, just email me.

Modern Blue

Quilt Price: $150 (sold)

Quilt: 42” width x 58” length
Pillow: not yet made but have enough fabric for one.

My daughter kept encouraging me to step outside my normal cottage chic style and make something with a modern twist. This pattern inspired me. It is a unique blend of modern style with vintage fabric patterns and quilting (loved quilting the spirals) that gives it lots of movement.

Redbirds

There is a saying that when Cardinals (redbirds) appear, a loved one is near. When I saw this fabric collection, it immediately reminded me of the many times that Cardinals visited my back porch after my brother and father passed away. They were such a comfort, as if by their presence I knew that my loved ones were watching over me.

I decided to make this quilt with a warm flannel backing, its a perfect winter/holiday lap quilt to snuggle under on a chilly night.

Quilt Price: $125 (sold)

Quilt: 44.5” width x 62” length
Pillow or Tote bag: not yet made but have enough fabric one or two.

Update – January 22, 2022

As those of you who have participated in the Compassion Creator calls know, I have moved on into the next phase of Mission Restoration. This move was precipitated by the sale of my home and belongings. The proceeds enabled me to obtain a truck and travel trailer. Now I am mobile and able to travel around to host the Compassion Gatherings. It is my understanding that these gatherings will become the foundations for new communities based on a much higher level of consciousness. Together with Anubis, I am learning to enjoy the nomad existence in my 23′ home.

Downsizing was not easy as there were many things that were sentimental to me,, the rest were released via an estate sale. Now that I’ve been on the road for 3 months, I realize I must let go of more if I wish to be able to keep everything with me rather than having a storage unit. My sense is that everything I own must be able to fit in my trailer and truck without it feeling cramped and crowded thus freeing up energy to be used to support this new phase. Of course, this means releasing more of my favorite things.

Below are the next batch of items to go — my needlework collection. The pieces are from the collection of famed artist Paula Vaughn. Paula Vaughn, who grew up in the Great SmokyMountains, brings her favorite memories to life in her beautiful paintings that hearken back to a time when women sat on wide verandas, sipping lemonade on warm summer days.

Her paintings were made into cross stitch designs that when stitched on 30ct Belfast Linen creates a 3 dimensional picture that from a distance looks like it has been painted — truly unique. The larger pieces have over 100,000 stitches and take months to complete. Though I had begun doing cross stitch in the late 80s, I didn’t come across her work until the year of my walk-in. I remember how I felt when I first saw her designs in a local shop, faint memories of a lifetime in 1800s England times past stirred in my soul.  It was as if someone had captured those memories and placed them there of me to find so that as I stitched, I was anchoring myself into this current timeline. On a related note, the person with whom I was romantically involved in that lifetime was presently in my life. Consequently I was able to better understand his role and learn the lessons I needed to learn.  Funny how that works, isn’t it?

Back to the needlework, each piece has been signed, dated and professionally mounted and framed by framers familiar with the unique needs of textile artwork. If left in these frames they will last for many years. As you can see I am a vintage girl at heart and these pictures remind me of times when life was simpler and people were more connected. It is my hope that the new communities will take us back to that level of connection. Once again the proceeds will help provide funding to continue the work of this new phase.

Without further ado, here is the needlework collection.

Good Neighbors

“Good Neighbors” was chosen as a companion to another piece I had stitched and the only one I am keeping. I love the feeling of connectedness it gives me, seeing the neighbor women chatting on the street. The roses on the table along with a comfortable pillow and quilt on a front porch swing made me long for days when life was full of simple yet beautiful things. Begun in 2011, it was finally completed in 2021. Professionally framed, signed and dated.

Size: 21.5w x 17.75”
Price: $300

Summer in the Garden

As I said, I have a love of vintage things and wanted something to hang in my upstairs landing. These summer garden designs were just the ticket. They reminded me of my great aunt Lily’s flower gardens.  She lived in the country outside of Nashville, Tennessee. We would go see her when I was a child and remember marveling at how beautiful the geraniums looked regardless of what kind of container they were in. I chose a simpler more rustic frame for the pair, but I think they would look great in a distressed white frame as well.  In fact, I had intended to paint the frames but as you know, life took a different course.
Professionally framed, signed and dated.

Size: 16.75″ high x 16″ wide
Price: $150 /pair

From this Day Forward

Like many young girls growing up in the South, I used to read stories of the old South. This picture reminds me of the type of wedding day we used to dream of. It took many months and many, many stitches to bring it to life, but I feel the time and effort was worth it. It has always be one of my most favorite pieces.
Professionally framed, signed and dated.

Size: 21.75″ w x 17”
Price: $325 (Sold)

The Mission Restoration Quilts

Lovingly Created by Jelaila

For the last 4 years I, along with many other dedicated starseeds have been actively doing our part to assist humanity in achieving the freedom of Planet Earth and her peoples. Mission Restoration, which began on June 14, 2021 was thought to be short in duration. Well, we discovered different.

Like the first mission which lasted from 1996 to 2016, we could not see how long implementation would take. But now we see we are nearing the end of the critical phase, that of bringing humanity through difficult and challenging events in order to achieve a great awakening. The Covid pandemic was the key part of this mission phase wherein the goal was to awaken humanity.

I began to create the quilts in June of 2020 as a way to maintain a level of hope, joy and enthusiasm, all critical elements to sustain the grid and template work we had completed during the previous years. I found that as I made them I remained in a state of joy (most of the time). I had always loved working with textiles and it was wonderful to be back working with them, but in a new and different way.

Now, as the events we foretold 25 years prior began to play out, it was more important than ever to continue to energize the templates so that humanity had another way to respond to the events (each a replay of past galactic events) in the way that would ensure they survive and reclaim their planet rather than losing it.

When I began quilt making, it was something totally new to me and required a good amount of my time and energy. I often wondered why I was doing it, especially when it became clear that this was not an inexpensive hobby and with having income reduced due to Covid restrictions, it was another leap of faith.

Integration Game

Integration Game was made in May 2021. I feel the pattern and colors were chosen by two things, the need to calm the turmoil created by Covid crisis, and to remind us that the dark ultimately will serve the light. When we embrace that understanding, we experience peace in our hearts and thus, integration.

The play between the light and dark colors of Integration Game, and how they fit together, when done with conscious intent creates a harmonious pattern.  And I have to say the pictures do not do justice to how vibrant and visually stunning the rich colors of russet red, gold, light blue and deep blue of this Americana 1776 color pallet really are.

Quilt Price: $125 (sold)
Pillow Price: $20 (sold)

Quilt: 57” width x 68” length
Pillow: 14” x 11.6”
(have enough fabric for one more and also a tote bag)

Brightly

Brightly was made in March 2021. We were coming out of a dark winter and it just felt like I needed to create something that reflected how wonderfully us awakened ones had weathered the darkness to emerge shining our light in spite of it all.

Quilt Price: $125 (sold)

Quilt: 58” width x 70.5” length
Pillow: not yet made but have enough fabric for one or two.

Irish Chain

Irish Chain, made in January 2021, was a daunting choice of a pattern because it required very accurate piecing to ensure everything lined up and I was still a novice quilter. Moreover, when making it, you cannot tell where the chains are going or whether the colors of the blocks will look good together. Kinda reminded me of how we felt at that time;  we were our global dark night of the soul and we could not see the path in front of us. Later, we would emerge and just like this quilt, the outcome would be beautiful.

Quilt Price: $125 (sold)

Quilt: 60” width x 70” length
Pillow: not yet made but have enough fabric one pillow, or a storage bin.

Irish Chain

Starburst

Starburst, made in July, 2021 represents the immense growth that we awakened ones have achieved as a result of the emotional ups and downs caused by the unprecedented changes we have experienced during the last four years. I feel that we are now literally bursting with light!

Quilt Price: $125 (sold)
Pillow Price: $20 (sold)

Quilt: 55” width x 67.5” length

Violet’s Garden

Violet’s Garden was made in November, 2020. After the surprising outcome of the US presidential election I felt I and everyone else needed something to lift my spirits. This quilt, with its beautiful peaches and cream roses reminiscent of a cottage garden, really did the trick.

Sophie’s Joy

Sophie’s Joy was made in June, 2021. It represents my childlike anticipation of the coming new reality we are all eagerly awaiting. Just looking at it makes my heart and my inner child smile.
