Sharing the Wisdom of Unconditional Compassion

A Higher Perspective on HR 1955

Just a few days ago I received an email from a friend. In it was a link to a video that talked about a new bill known as the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorist Prevention Act of 2007. This bill just passed the House of Representatives after a whopping 404 to 6 vote. It’s on it way now to the Senate and if it clears there, freedom of speech as we have known it will be gone. In laymen’s terms this bill gives the government the power to arrest anyone who speaks or write in a way that could be construed as an attempt to sway a person or group to act against the government’s policies. I found it interesting that they wrote the bill so that just attempting to protest it can cause you to get arrested. It’s as though the government is saying, “We’re passing this bill to take away your right to protest our actions and if you say anything about it, we’ll arrest you.

Seeing the video about HR 1955 sent a shot of fear and anger through me. I guess that’s just what it was meant to trigger, eh? I had to get up from my computer and walk into another room to shake the feeling. Once calmer I began looking at it from the higher perspective, the perspective of compassion. “Okay,” I said to myself, “If it is true that we are all creator gods and goddesses, here on this Earth for spiritual growth, and we obtain that growth through creating challenging situations, then what is the purpose of this bill? Why did we co-create it? What did we want to learn?” The answer came very quickly. As I understand it, HR 1955 was meant to help accelerate our ascension by giving us another reason to apply the consciousness and power of compassion. Allow me to explain.

From the higher perspective, the Dark is simply a tool that we, as creator gods and goddesses designing the challenges through which we will learn the lessons we came to Earth to learn. And, of course, each lesson is designed to help us integrate some fear and change the dysfunctional core belief behind. A dysfunctional belief is one that is polarized or imbalanced in that there is an imbalance of Light and Dark, or love/fear, however you wish to describe the two polarities.

In the case of HR 1955, we have collectively as a nation of god/goddesses created this bill in order move us in the direction we need to go in order to accelerate our ascension. The bill does this by effectively closing the door to the old way of resisting something that we have created, i.e., HR 1955. Movies such as, The Secret and What the Bleep have prepared us for this moment by showing us that what we see in our reality is a result of what is going on inside of us. And though we understand it, it is hard to change old habits and ways of thinking. As a nation we still believe we are the product of our reality and not the other way around. Protesting, getting mad, writing our congressmen, and organizing marches on Washington are part of the old way. This bill effectively stops us from doing those anymore which, in turn, helps us by forcing us to work from within.

Working from within means doing whatever emotional clearing work is necessary to integrate the aspects of the Light and Dark polarities within us, individually and collectively, that are being manifested in our national reality as HR 1955. As Mahatma Ghandi showed us many years ago when he freed his country from the rule of the British Empire, there is a better way. Compassion is the key because it is the one emotion that neutralizes all polarity.

As I said in the beginning, if we use this opportunity to apply compassion, because compassion is the final result of integrating the Light and Dark, then we will take a huge leap forward in our ascension. With only four short years left until 2012, we need all the help we can get. We have a choice in how we respond to HR 1955. How will you respond?
